Discord is a newly created voice messaging, designed for players.

Discord is a freeware proprietary VoIP application designed for gaming communities. Discord runs on Microsoft Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, Linux, and in a web browser. In December 2016, the developers announced that Discord had over 25 million users.

Discord is a multiplatform application that allows you to interact with people from all over the world, with numerous facilities to the players. The great advantage is its ability to use it on different devices with different operating systems. We can also run on ordinary web browser, without installing anything.

About the software

Discord runs on Microsoft Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, Linux, and in a web browser, which all support fundamental text-based chat features. The Discord application for personal computers is designed for use while gaming, including features such as low-latency, free voice chat servers for users and a dedicated server infrastructure. Discord’s developers plan to add video calling and screen sharing. Direct calling was added in an update on July 28, 2016, with support for calls between two or more users.

Payment method

While the software itself comes at no cost, the developers investigated ways to monetize it, with potential options including paid customization options such as emoji or stickers. In January 2017, the first paid features were released with ‘Discord Nitro’. For a monthly subscription fee users can get an animated avatar, use custom emojis across all servers, an increased maximum file size on file uploads (from 8 MB to 50 MB), and a unique profile badge.

Why you should use Discord?

Never pay for voice chat again

Discord is always completely free to use with no gotchas. This means you can make as many servers as you want with no slot limitations.

Wondering how we’ll make money? In the future there will be optional cosmetics like themes, sticker packs, and sound packs available for purchase. We’ll never charge for Discord’s core functionality.
