About Erasmus+ in UJW

About Erasmus+ in UJW

The Erasmus program was created in 1987 as a student exchange program. Although its scope and objectives broadened in the coming years, the main idea remains the same: to develop international cooperation between universities. The name Erasmus refers to the name of the Dutch philosopher and theologian, humanist, Erasmus of Rotterdam (1466-1536). Not without a reason. Erasmus, like other prominent men of the Renaissance, was educated in a number of universities in different countries in Europe, and his views on education were permeated with a deep humanism.

Erasmus is a program for universities, their students and employees. Supports international cooperation in higher education allows students trips abroad for part of their studies and practice, promotes the mobility of university staff, creates numerous opportunities for universities to participate in projects with foreign partners. In some of his actions may also attend other institutions, organizations or companies that cooperate with universities.
