A VISIT TO THE PREFECTURE AND SITECH COMPANY

Today, we met the director of the Polkowice prefecture, at the new building. We went for  a tour of the building, which was built using the latest eco-friendly technology, the goal being to achieve the lowest cost of the maintenance possible. We were much impressed with  the concept, the architecture, and with how local politicians work in the service for their citizens, their new ideas for the future.  We hope that one day things will be the same in our city as well. We exchanged ideas and discussed  the strengths and weaknesses of our countries. We were very proud to represent Romania abroad and we tried to make a good impression.

After that, we visited Sitech, a German company, that manufactures seats for Volkswagen cars. We underwent training with specialized personnel, learned about the manufacturing process, about Germans concepts and how to work in a factory. We were very impressed with this factory and we hope that in the future we will have another chance to do internships in other German factories in Romania or abroad.

A VISIT AT THE SERVICE POINT

We started work at 9 AM, at Mr Polkowski’s office. Our task was to sort different types of computer components and to identify the ones still working . At 1 PM, we took the BMW to the service point in Lubin for an oil change. This took about 30 minutes and we paid 378 PLN for the oil change, 143 PLN was for the 6.5 liters of oil and 235 PLN was the cost of labor.

The same operation done in Romania would cost about 170 PLN for both the oil and the labor.

A VISIT AT THE LOCAL POLICE

Today we visited the local police (Straż Miejska). There we learned about the technology used in law enforcement by Polish police officers, such as: radars, modern patrol vehicles and CCTV cameras monitoring key areas of the city. We even received gifts at the end of our visit, including their plush police mascot, which you can see in the pictures below. We saw that the local police officers of Polkowice are very good professionals, being friendly and helpful to citizens in the same time.

THE LAST DAY IN BERLIN

It’s our last day in Berlin, so we checked out, left our luggage and cars at the hotel and we went to visit the city using public transportation.  During the whole day we visited:

Kreuzberg, which is an area with a large number of immigrants, mostly Turkish.
Alexanderplatz, a large public square and a major transportation hub in the central Mittedistrict of Berlin, near the Fernsehtum.
Checkpoint Charlie, one of Berlin’s most important tourist attractions, the name was given by the Western Allies to the best-known Berlin Wall crossing point, between East Berlin and West Berlin during the Cold War.
The Reichstag, which is the building which houses the German Parliament. Here, members of parliament  gathered from 1894 to 1933 and  after 1999, after the Reichstag building was restored. The famous large glass dome was added by Norman Foster, the English architect whose project won the architectural contest for the reconstruction of the building.

Only IFA offers such a comprehensive overview of the international market and attracts the attention of trade visitors each year from more than 100 countries.

IFA is the main meeting place for key retailers, buyers, and experts in the industry and the media. We had the opportunity to explore emerging trends and celebrate the premieres of new technologies and products.

From our point of view, IFA was one of the biggest trade shows we had ever visited and it was a great experience for us. We were impressed with the latest devices and the new technologies that we saw there.
